Gut Microbiome’s Role in IBS

Old Indian Wild Cherry Bark Syrup by Planetary Formulas:

Taken on an empty stomach, this seems to be very helpful for my IBS with constipation (IBS with diarrhea or both) will be covered separately. But I have already conditioned my stomach, when I take this. (See Conditioning of stomach below)

What is going on in our gut that makes us feel so bad?  Plenty!         But I just want it to stop. Well, I've finally found some answers. I am going to do my best to record my answers here.

Yes, it is strong, but I take only one teaspoon and I chase it with a little water - maybe twice per day. Tremendously effective for any kind of infection in the body - it is not just cough syrup, it supports internal defenses. The little bit of alcohol seems not to be a problem and maybe even be therapeutic.

I have been struggling for years with IBS (irritable bowel, which affects my stomach, too, causing loss of appetite).

One cause of my condition is apparently some infection that may be a preponderance of bad bacteria and/or candida in the small bowel. Wow! I have found that if I take a dose of this Old Indian on an empty (but not painful) stomach, I feel so much better in about 15 minutes and for many hours thereafter - I am killing the hell out or those critters, which may be bacteria or candida or both.

After about 20 minutes or so, I have found that following it with a product called "AGRISEPT - L" is even more effective in that it fully restores my appetite.

Then I made a salad of chopped red cabbage, sugar snap peas, bok choy, parsley, dill weed, and squeezed lime, ranch dressing, olive oil, poppy seeds, seasoned with dried oregano, cardamom, thyme, sage, pepper and Bragg Liquid Aminos. Then I had some homemade beef bone soup with roast beef. Nice to eat well and feel OK.

I have found that internal warts and/or fungus may also be involved in IBS - and the remedy I use is homeopathic Thuja Occid, 30c - Acts on skin, blood, gastro-intestinal tract, kidneys, and brain. Its relation to the production of pathological vegetations condylomate, warty excrescences, spongy tumors is very important. Moist mucous tubercles. Bleeding fungus growths. Nævus. Excess of venosity. (Ref: http://www.homeoint.org/books/boeric/t/thuj.htm)                               I do have a dental cavity in a tooth that may be a source of infection that is affecting he GI tract. Dental visit is scheduled. I will report the results.    Thuja Occid 30c also covers caries.

I used to have many silver fillings. I had them all removed over 10 years ago. Amalgam (silver) fillings leach mercury into the system. Mercury is a poison that made me continually ill. I felt so much better after the removal. I may still be dealing with the after-effects of mercury poisoning. (See Mouth - Teeth & Gums)

Read More...IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) can be of extreme complexity involving the whole body, mind and spirit and with so many variations and conflicting, delayed responses - making it difficult to understand, deal with, and describe my solutions.                                       While I am describing a few points in my treatment of the syndrome, I am frequently doing many other things involving foods, herbs, vitamins, homeopathic remedies, and lifestyle.                                             It is a well-known concept that the seat of ones power is the stomach. Therefore, I find that if my stomach doesn't feel strong, or is painful, I must first condition my stomach.
